The restaurant with the longest history in the Poble Espanyol
La Font de Prades, with its more than 50 years of experience and managed by the very family that founded it, is the restaurant with the longest history in the Poble Espanyol, and probably in the entire mountain of Montjuïc.
In 1969, our grandparents Josep and Rosa opened at La Cava, in the fountain plaza, the only restaurant in the Poble Espanyol where people could try simple dishes from traditional Catalan cuisine, drink wine straight from the pitcher and have a toast with a glass of Penedès.
As time went by, our parents Pere and Rosa transformed and expanded the restaurant until what it is today. They taught us love for this job and for honest, careful work —“This, our sons, is the art of happiness, because there is nothing better than sharing a table with those you love the most”.
In recent years, we have doubled our efforts towards traditional cuisine with local products.We take the utmost care of our guests to make them feel welcome and encourage them to come again.
Today it is us, twins Pere and Marc, who lead the third generation of the family business, while our children run and play in the streets and squares of the Poble Espanyol.
